![]() ![]() They are A LOT of people that use text to speech. The sound through a VM is a much lower quality and lets be honest is simply not efficient and this should be something that linux needs to have. I tried read speaker which has a web feature with some of the Ivona's voice but on the fastest voice it still reads slow and lags like hell with many other issues. Text Aloud for example installed but wouldn't launch. The old guides that i have found didn't end up working. The best voices from my experience are Ivona Salli (my go to) & Jennifer and I use them with Text Aloud software (but I am open to other high-quality voices and software). Now I have spent so many days trying to get a good one working on mint that I have lost count. My job requires me to basically study all day, every day, so it's not like I can easily keep switching b/w windows & linux. I have a lot of learning disabilities and one thing that I need is a good TTS. ![]()
